Impact at CLIPI
While Linda Douglass was still a student at the University of Southern California, she helped CLIPI in the firm’s initial fundraising efforts. Douglass became CLIPI’s full-time paralegal after she completed her undergraduate degree.
After her term at CLIPI, Douglass built a successful career in TV journalism. From 1974 to 1996, she was a correspondent and political editor for KCBS, KNBC, and CBS News. She then spent nine years as the Chief Capitol Hill Correspondent for ABC News. In 1999, she was awarded the National Press Foundation's Everett Dirksen Award for Distinguished Coverage of Congress.
While working as a Contributing Editor for the National Journal, Douglass served as a senior strategist and spokeswoman for the Barack Obama 2008 presidential campaign. Following Obama's victory, Douglass was appointed spokeswoman for the presidential inauguration committee. During President Barack Obama's first term, she was director of communications for the White House Office of Health Reform from 2009 to 2010.
From 2010 to 2019, Douglass served senior communications roles in Atlantic Media, Bloomberg Media and Editorial, and Bloomberg LP. Since 2019, she has been an entrepreneurial Communications Consultant in Washington, D.C.
